The MMPA/MBA in Accounting program created the unique ability to not just understanding accounting principals but provided a great foundation of business operations, management and leadership.

After completing my BA undergraduate studies, I pursued my MBA in Accounting (Now MMPA) to uniquely understand accounting principles, and utilize business operations, leadership, and ultimately support the opening of the Trafalgar Treatment Centre.

I was with the Trafalgar Treatment Centre since its inception as a co-founder and have developed a deep understanding of their treatment programs and the sensitivity and care to those suffering from addiction. Ranked on Canadian Business Magazine Growth 2020 List of Canada’s fastest growing companies, the immediate impact of COVID-19 caused Trafalgar to pivot to a virtual platform, seeing monthly admissions grown over 4X from its pre covid baseline.

During my first MMPA Co-op placement I began working at Deloitte in January 1999 busy season in what was then the “High Tech/High Growth group", and continued on again for my second placement and after graduation until successfully completing the CA requirements in September 2002.  Having always been fascinated in the operations side of things I joined Pitney Bowes Canada in 2002 as Manager Financial Operations and later became Director of Finance in 2006.  In 2008 I moved on from Pitney Bowes to take part in various entrepreneurial real estate special projects while operating a Business Processing Operations consulting firm with 15 employees.

In 2010 after working closely with a loved one who struggled with addiction, we together began our mission to improve and innovate the Canadian Addiction Treatment landscape. After scouting locations and developing our program concept, we opened our first residential treatment centre in Erin, Ontario in October 2013. Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centres was the first of its kind in Canada focusing on treating Concurrent Disorders (Addiction and Mental Health together).  In this short time we have grown to 64 Employees, become CARF Accredited and have developed the first Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program providing greater accessibility to intensive treatment to all Canadians as a true alternative to the traditional residential rehab model.
