BIO
Yue Li is a Professor at the University of Toronto, with a cross-appointment at Rotman School of Management. He became the Director of the MMPA Program in 2023 and has been successfully teaching Accounting Theory & Research (MGT2280) since 2010. Yue was also a Fellow of the Michael Lee-Chin Family Institute for Corporate Citizenship at Rotman, and has served as Editor (ad hoc) for Contemporary Accounting Research, Guest Editor for Journal of Management Accounting Research and Asia Review of Accounting, and Associate Editor for Managerial Auditing Journal and Asia Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics.
Yue’s research focuses on the disclosure and valuation relevance of corporate environmental performance information and corporate social responsibility. He has published in major accounting research journals, including the Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, European Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, among others. He has organized the annual MMPA conferences since 2008. Yue has received various research grants over the years, including Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada grants, totaling over $150,000, as well as the Best Paper Award for three separate papers. Yue has presented his research at conferences and university research workshops internationally and his Google Scholar citations stand at 5,091 in August 2020.

Teaches courses in Managerial Accounting, Management Control, Accounting Theory, Financial Statement Analysis, and Consolidation.
Research interests include Environmental Accounting, Corporate Governance, Voluntary Disclosures and Capital Markets, Corporate Social Responsibility, and IPO valuation.
