Stephanie Cheng, Class of 2011

After several interactions with MMPA faculty members who fostered curiosity for further study and research, I decided to pursue a doctorate degree.

I completed my dual B.A. degrees in psychology and economics with honors at the University of Texas in 2008. After graduating from the MMPA program, I worked in public accounting for over 3 years. I became interested in researching accounting-related issues, and after several interactions with MMPA faculty members who fostered curiosity for further study and research, I decided to pursue a doctorate degree. I received my Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management in 2019, and currently live in New Orleans, where I am an Assistant Professor for the Intermediate Financial Accounting course in the undergraduate program at Tulane University. My research interests include the roles of other information (from alternative sources) in capital markets, capital market regulations and auditing, with an emphasis on the emerging issues in the credit markets.
