Laura Arngna'naaq, Class of 2013

Laura Laura Arngna’naaq is an Inuk from the community of Qamani’tuaq, Kivalliq region, Nunavut. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University, a Masters of Management and Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant. Laura is currently an Accounting Manager for Habitat For Humanity GTA and gained her professional experience requirements as a Junior Corporate Accountant at Brookfield Office Properties. Laura is currently the Co-President of the Aboriginal Professional Association of Canada, one of the founders of Torontomiutaujugut, a Toronto based Inuit Youth organization, and the Secretary-Treasurer at Tunngasuvvingat Inuit, a provincial organization for Inuit in Ontario. Previously, Laura was the Youth Director at the Native Woman’s Resource Centre of Toronto, volunteered her time at the Museum of Inuit Art as a Front Desk Representative, and volunteered as a Bike Works Community Builder at Evergreen Brickworks. She is a 2016 Indspire award recipient in the Youth Achievement category. While pursuing accounting full-time, Laura ensures to engage her artistic side by working on traditional Inuit arts and crafts such as beading.  Laura and her fiance are currently working on constructing a traditional Greenlandic kayak in their backyard in their spare time.
