University of Toronto MMPA graduate Jeremy Kofman earns Honour Roll spot on CPA Common Final Examination
Jeremy, a 24-year-old Toronto native and recent graduate of the University of Toronto’s MMPA program, has achieved a prestigious Honour Roll placement on the CPA Common Final Examination (CFE). This accomplishment highlights the program’s rigorous preparation for aspiring accounting professionals.
Program Excellence Drives Success
Jeremy completed the 27-month MMPA stream, which fast-tracks students toward the CPA designation through integrated accounting, finance, and management training. He credits the program’s early CFE case exposure-starting nearly a year in advance-and weekly case-writing in the final semester for building his case-writing skills and identifying weaknesses early. Beyond academics, Jeremy gained hands-on experience through co-op terms at Ernst & Young (EY), contributing to assurance engagements in technology, real estate, and oil and gas, supported by a strong network of MMPA alumni at the firm.
Personal Journey and Accolades
A legacy MMPA student whose father also completed the program, Jeremy bridged his U.S. undergraduate degree in economics from Wesleyan University back to Toronto’s business hub via MMPA. He overcame initial concerns about co-op placements and peer competition through dedicated support from the Placement Team and professors who emphasized understanding over memorization. Jeremy also received the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and MMPA Faculty Scholarship in 2025, recognizing his merit across disciplines.
The MMPA program has been a highly rewarding experience. It not only opens exciting career opportunities in Toronto, Canada’s business hub, but also fosters meaningful relationships with professors and coop placement coordinators who genuinely care about your growth and success
Jeremy intends to pursue his CPA designation at EY, and enjoys hobbies like food, sports, music, and time with family and friends in his spare time
