MMPA 12- Month Program Application Instructions

Applicants who wish to apply for admission to the MMPA 12- Month Program should use the School of Graduate Studies’ on-line application system.  Please click on the highlighted link, and follow the instructions on the Admissions Application to complete your application. 

Applications for Class 2019 are open.

The MMPA Program is offered by the Institute of Management & Innovation.  You must select the Institute of Management & Innovation as the Graduate Unit first.  You will then be able to select the Master of Management & Professional Accounting as your degree program.

Applicants applying to the 12- month-stream should use the application for the Start Session fall 2019. The applicant must then select PG_MMPA1 for the 12M (1year) Stream.

Applicants are required to upload a copy of their university academic record, unless they are a student from the University of Toronto.  University of Toronto academic records will be verified directly.

Students that applied to the Program in previous years must complete the on-line application and upload all required electronic documents.  They must notify the MMPA Program by email if they have submitted official documents previously.  The Program will verify the documents are on file and notify the applicant that sending additional official documents is not necessary.

Please send paper copies only for items specifically requested.

Further instructions will be provided once an applicant registers their application on the on-line application system and pays the application fee.

Documents/items that will be requested will include the following:

  • $350CDN application fee. (non-refundable)
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores. (may be waived)
  • English Proficiency Test, if applicable.
  • Two professional and/or academic reference contacts from individuals chosen by the applicant.
  • Summary of the applicant’s academic and professional work history, and
  • One brief essay
Please note once an applicant begins their application, the applicant is able to log in and out and add documents as they become available.

Applicants for MMPA 2019 will be considered as follows:

Applicants for the 12-month MMPA Program, whose application files are complete, will be considered for the January 31st application deadline.  If a choice is required between applicants of equal merit, preference will be given to the earliest completed applications.

Applicants that have a referee without an institutional email address must contact the MMPA Program for the MMPA Reference form and explain why an institutional email address is not available. This should be done prior to taking action.  The MMPA Reference form must be included with the referee’s letter in the sealed and signed envelope.

Can I apply to the 12M stream if I studied outside of Canada?


No. Only applicants who have completed an Accounting Specialist in their undergraduate degree from a Canadian university may apply to this stream.
